L3Harris Expands THAAD Propulsion Output Fourfold

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. has agreed to a significant increase in manufacturing output for a key missile defense program. The company will quadruple the production of propulsion systems used in the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system under the terms of a new agreement.

THAAD is a long-range missile defense system designed to intercept incoming ballistic missiles during their terminal phase of flight. The propulsion systems produced by L3Harris are a critical component, providing the thrust necessary for the interceptor missiles to engage their targets.

This manufacturing expansion falls under L3Harris’s Missile Solutions (MSL) segment. The segment focuses on the development and production of advanced munitions and rocket systems. By scaling up the production line, the company aims to meet heightened demand for interceptor assets required to sustain regional defense architectures.
