L3Harris Secures Agreement to Scale THAAD Propulsion Manufacturing

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. has finalized a multi-year framework agreement designed to significantly increase the production rate of propulsion systems for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system. The company stated that this arrangement will enable it to quadruple its manufacturing output for these critical components.

THAAD is a US Army system designed to intercept ballistic missiles. The propulsion systems provide the thrust necessary for the interceptor missiles to engage their targets. By establishing this framework, the company aims to align its industrial capacity with rising demand for air and missile defense inventory.

L3Harris provides mission-critical solutions for government and commercial customers. The company operates through three primary business segments: Space & Mission Systems (SMS), Communications & Spectrum Dominance (CSD), and Missile Solutions (MSL). The propulsion manufacturing falls under the company’s integrated capabilities within its missile division.

Shares of L3Harris were trading lower during the session. The stock was last priced at $305.20, representing a decline of roughly 0.32% from the previous close of $306.17. The company holds a market capitalization of approximately $52.97 billion and operates within the Industrials sector, specifically the Aerospace & Defense industry.
