Huntington Ingalls Industries Raises 2026 Guidance Following Quarterly Profit Jump

Huntington Ingalls Industries has increased its financial outlook for 2026 after reporting a significant surge in quarterly profitability. The defense contractor, which operates through its Ingalls Shipbuilding, Newport News Shipbuilding, and Mission Technologies divisions, attributed the improved guidance to strong operational performance across its business units.

The company is a major supplier of nuclear and non-nuclear ships for the U.S. Navy, alongside providing technical solutions for government and commercial partners. Management indicated that recent execution in shipbuilding and growing demand for its mission support services have bolstered its confidence in longer-term financial targets.

Investors reacted positively to the news and the accompanying quarterly results. In late-morning trading, Huntington Ingalls Industries shares saw a substantial increase, rising 8.93% to reach $317.80. The stock had previously closed at $291.74. The rally pushed the company’s market capitalization to approximately $12.52 billion. Huntington Ingalls trades in the Industrials sector, specifically within the Aerospace & Defense industry.
