L3Harris Advances Missile Defense Program With Propulsion Test

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. has completed a significant hot-fire test as part of its development of the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program. The test, a critical step in the maturity of the weapon system, demonstrates the performance of the propulsion technology intended to be used in the missile.

The NGI program aims to update the United States’ ground-based midcourse defense capabilities. L3Harris is developing the interceptor to engage ballistic missile threats outside the atmosphere.
