ARK Investment Management Offloads Palantir Holdings, Adds SpaceX Exposure

Investment firm ARK Investment Management, led by Cathie Wood, has adjusted its portfolio within the defense and aerospace sector by reducing its position in Palantir Technologies Inc.. The firm sold shares of the data analytics company while simultaneously increasing its exposure to private space transport company SpaceX.

Palantir Technologies Inc. specializes in software platforms for the intelligence community, assisting in counterterrorism investigations and operations in the United States, the United Kingdom, and internationally. The company’s Palantir Gotham platform is designed to integrate with various systems to support data analysis. Following the market adjustment, Palantir shares are currently trading at $179.94, representing a 3.56% increase from the previous close of $173.76. The company maintains a market capitalization of approximately $420.99 billion.

The decision to rotate out of Palantir and into SpaceX highlights shifting preferences among institutional investors regarding the commercial space sector versus established software infrastructure. While Palantir focuses on government and commercial enterprise software, SpaceX operates as a private entity focused on space transportation and satellite internet.
