Palantir Taps Nebius to Build Out Sovereign AI Offering for Government and Enterprise Clients
Palantir Technologies has announced a partnership with AI infrastructure firm Nebius Group aimed at giving Palantir customers access to a full “sovereign AI” stack — combining Nebius’s compute and cloud infrastructure with Palantir’s software platforms in configurations designed to keep data and model deployment under national or organizational jurisdiction.
Sovereign AI refers to the growing demand from governments and regulated enterprises for artificial intelligence systems where data, models, and processing remain within controlled boundaries, rather than relying on multi-tenant public cloud environments. For defence and public-sector customers, that requirement is often central to procurement decisions.
The deal pairs Palantir’s operational software — including its Gotham platform, used by government and intelligence customers — with Nebius’s infrastructure footprint. Nebius, which emerged from the former Yandex holdings, has been expanding its AI-focused data center capacity in Europe and North America.
Market context
Palantir, listed as PLTR, is trading at $174.33, essentially flat on the session at −0.06% from the prior close of $174.431, with a market capitalization of roughly $439.7 billion. The company is classified in the Technology sector under Software — Infrastructure, and the partnership underscores how infrastructure positioning is becoming a competitive layer in the software vendor’s public-sector business.
For Nebius, the agreement represents a marquee anchor customer for its sovereign AI ambitions — a space where hyperscalers, regional cloud providers, and national champions are all competing for government workloads. Palantir, for its part, gains a route to offer customers in-region compute options without building out its own data center estate, an asset-light way to meet jurisdictional requirements.
The announcement did not include financial terms of the partnership, revenue commitments, or initial customer deployments.
What to watch

- Identification of early adopters or pilot deployments of the combined stack, particularly among European government customers
- Nebius data center capacity announcements that could support the partnership’s rollout
- Any similar sovereign-AI partnerships announced by competing public-sector software vendors
