Palantir and Nvidia Deepen AI Collaboration, With Shares Unmoved

Palantir Technologies (PLTR) and chipmaker Nvidia have expanded their existing artificial intelligence partnership, according to a report from Barron’s. The collaboration, described as a “Dream AI” partnership, has so far failed to lift either company’s share price despite the renewed announcement.

Palantir, a software company whose platforms are used by the intelligence community in the United States and the United Kingdom, saw its stock trade at $170.50 on the day, essentially flat against the prior close of $170.62 — a decline of just 0.07%. The company carries a market capitalization of roughly $439.7 billion, placing it among the largest names in the technology sector’s software-infrastructure industry.

Partnership Background

Palantir has increasingly positioned itself as an AI deployment layer for enterprise and government customers, integrating third-party AI models into its software platforms. Nvidia, which supplies the graphics processing units (GPUs) that underpin most large-scale AI model training and inference, has been a frequent partner across the software ecosystem as organizations move from experimentation to production AI systems.

The expanded arrangement reportedly extends the two companies’ existing joint work, though the market reaction suggests investors had largely priced in the relationship, or viewed the announcement as incremental rather than a new revenue catalyst. For Palantir, whose valuation has drawn significant attention given the gap between its market cap and reported revenue, share-price moves have often been driven more by earnings results and government contract awards than by partnership announcements.

Why It Matters

Partnerships between AI infrastructure providers and software platforms are becoming a recurring theme across the defence and intelligence technology landscape, as agencies seek to operationalize AI models within secure environments. Palantir’s platforms — including its long-standing Gotham software — serve government clients, making the company a regular subject of interest for observers of publicly traded defence-adjacent technology firms.

The muted stock response also underscores a broader pattern in 2024–2025 markets: AI-related announcements alone have increasingly struggled to move shares of companies that already trade at elevated valuations, with investors awaiting concrete bookings and revenue figures instead.

  • Any further details from either company on the commercial terms or scope of the expanded partnership.
  • New U.S. or allied government contract awards involving Palantir’s AI-enabled platforms.
