HAECO secures maintenance deals with ANA, JAL and Garuda Indonesia
Hong Kong-based MRO provider has signed agreements with All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines and Garuda Indonesia, covering base maintenance, engine services and landing-gear overhauls.
HAECO has deepened partnerships with All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan Airlines (JAL) and Garuda Indonesia, expanding its service portfolio across widebody and narrowbody airframes, landing gear and engine overhauls.
Under a new agreement running through 2030, HAECO will provide landing-gear overhaul services for ANA’s Boeing 777-300ER and 777 freighter fleets. Work will be carried out at the MRO provider’s dedicated landing-gear facility in Xiamen.
The deal expands an airframe maintenance partnership between the two companies that dates back to 1997. In June 2025, HAECO processed ANA’s 500th aircraft input at Xiamen Gaoqi International airport.
“As we continue to optimise the performance and reliability of our Boeing 777 fleet in the region, we are pleased to extend our partnership with HAECO,” says ANA vice-president supply chain operations Tsuyoshi Yazaki.
HAECO has also extended its long-running base maintenance contract with JAL through 2033. The deal covers the Japanese carrier’s Boeing 737, 767, 777 and 787 fleets, alongside its Airbus A350 aircraft, and is expected to encompass more than 180 aircraft inputs.
The two companies have partnered on base maintenance in Xiamen for over two decades, completing more than 430 aircraft inputs to date. Maintenance operations are scheduled to transition to HAECO’s new facility at Xiamen’s Xiang’an International airport when it opens at the end of 2026.
HAECO chief commercial officer Gerald Steinhoff notes that trust built over two decades of base maintenance in Xiamen has enabled the collaboration to grow into line maintenance services in Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, Indonesian flag-carrier Garuda Indonesia has signed a contract with HAECO Engine Services (Xiamen) covering performance restoration shop visits for three GE Aerospace GE90 engines through 2028.
The commitment builds on an initial agreement established in 2025 – which marked HAECO’s first direct engine services contract with an airline in the Asia-Pacific region – under which HAECO completed two GE90 shop visits and one quick turn, with two additional engines currently undergoing shop visits.
“Expanding strategic collaboration with HAECO will help strengthen fleet readiness and ensure operational reliability,” says Garuda Indonesia director of maintenance Mukhtaris Aris.
