Pratt & Whitney Canada signs long-term engine components contract with Bharat Forge
The deal follows two other aerospace collaborations between Pratt & Whitney Canada and Bharat Forge since July 2025.
Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has awarded India-based forging and engineering company Bharat Forge a long-term contract to manufacture critical aerospace engine components, as the engine manufacturer seeks to strengthen its global supply chain.
Bharat Forge announced the agreement on 5 October, saying the components will be manufactured at its aerospace facility in India.
Neither company has disclosed which components will be manufactured, which P&WC engine programmes the deal will support, or the value or duration of the contract.
Bharat Forge vice-chairman and joint managing director Amit Kalyani says the agreement reflects the company’s efforts toward “furthering India’s advancement in aerospace manufacturing expertise”.
P&WC vice-president of supply chain Nathalie Rivet says the deal will help P&WC bolster its international supplier network by strengthening supply chain sourcing from India.
“This collaboration with Bharat Forge reflects our commitment to building a resilient, high-performing global supply chain that supports our customers and future growth ambitions,” Rivet says.
The announcement comes shortly after a 15 September agreement between Bharat Forge and P&WC to work collaboratively to evaluate the potential use of P&WC turboprop engines in a high-altitude, long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle being developed by India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation.
Under that agreement, P&WC is responsible for evaluating engine compatibility, installation requirements and performance, while Bharat Forge will focus on engine-airframe integration.
The two firms also disclosed an aerospace manufacturing deal in July 2025, when Bharat Forge announced plans to establish a new aerospace ring mill in Baramati after signing contracts to supply P&WC with aerospace components.
The companies have not said whether the 5 October agreement is connected to the aerospace component contracts disclosed in July 2025.
