Omni inks multi-helicopter lease deal with Milestone

Package includes new and used rotorcraft from Leonardo and Sikorsky.
Lessor Milestone Aviation has agreed a multi-aircraft transaction with operator Omni Helicopters International (OHI), covering a mix of new and existing rotary-wing assets.

Included in the deal is the sale-and-leaseback financing of three new Leonardo Helicopters AW189 super-medium-twins, arriving in late 2026 and early 2027, to be used for oil and gas missions in Brazil.

Omni will also lease a pair of Sikorsky S-92s in an all-weather search and rescue configuration, which are expected to be delivered in the first quarter of next year and will be deployed for operation in Brazil.

Additionally, Omni has extended for five years the lease on an AW139 intermediate-twin for offshore oil and gas transportation.

“This transaction represents another important step in strengthening OHI’s ability to deliver safe, reliable and mission-critical aviation services across South America,” says OHI group chief executive Jeremy Akel.

“Our long-standing partnership with Milestone gives us the flexibility to invest in the right aircraft and capabilities to meet the evolving requirements of our customers.”

Milestone chief executive Pat Sheedy adds: “Brazil remains a key market for Milestone, and this transaction underscores both our long-term commitment to the region and our support for operators with modern, mission-ready aircraft.”
