Ark Investment Management Adjusts Tech Holdings, Trimming Palantir Stake

Cathie Wood’s Ark Investment Management continues to reshape its exchange-traded fund portfolios, with recent disclosures showing the firm adding to its position in Meta Platforms while reducing exposure to several other technology names, including defence software provider Palantir Technologies Inc.

The moves, reported by Benzinga, show Ark buying additional Meta shares amid the company’s push into wearable AI devices under its “Muse” initiative, while simultaneously paring positions across a range of holdings that include Amazon, AMD, Alphabet, and Palantir.

Palantir, which builds software platforms used by intelligence agencies and defence customers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and internationally, saw its shares slip modestly in recent trading. The stock was changing hands at $170.50, down 0.07% from its previous close of $170.62, valuing the company at roughly $439.7 billion. The Denver-based firm operates within the technology sector, classified under software infrastructure.

Ark’s daily trade disclosures are closely watched by retail investors, as the funds’ portfolio shifts often draw attention to the companies involved. Palantir has been a recurring name in Ark’s filings over recent years, with the firm alternating between adding and trimming its exposure depending on market conditions.

The reported reduction of the Palantir position comes despite the stock’s substantial gains over the past year, as the company has expanded its commercial artificial intelligence business alongside its established government contracts. Palantir’s Gotham platform, which integrates with other data systems for intelligence and defence applications, remains a core part of the company’s public-sector revenue base.

Ark’s simultaneous purchase of Meta shares reflects the firm’s stated interest in companies developing AI-enabled consumer hardware, with Benzinga noting the buying was tied to Meta’s Muse wearable device programme. The firm’s decision to cut Amazon, AMD, and Alphabet positions in the same session illustrates the rapid pace at which the actively managed funds rotate holdings.

Portfolio disclosures of this kind reflect only one investment manager’s positioning and do not indicate broader institutional sentiment toward the companies involved.

What to watch

  • Ark’s next daily trade disclosures, which will show whether the Palantir trimming continues
  • Palantir’s upcoming quarterly earnings report and any updates on government and commercial revenue mix
  • Further announcements from Meta regarding its Muse wearable device programme
